I’m certainly not the only person that was born and living in Los Angeles. I sometimes run into others that are from LA and it’s a treat. We can talk about things from years past and the ins and outs of traffic shortcuts.

Maryann is one of those locals that was born and raised in LA. More specifically she hails from Long Beach (a beautiful city) and loves the music culture that is Hollywood. I thought it would be a great idea to show different areas of Los Angeles by traveling on the Metro Rail and re-discover different spots along the journey.

A true joy to photograph and natural in front of the camera… I loved that she allowed me to archive a moment in her life.

I’ve known Ashley for a few years. She said she was the experiment since she is the only one (of three) children with red hair. When I met her sister Katie and brother Ryan I understood why she said that. I was saying in my head, “one of these doesn’t belong.”

In the middle of our session I couldn’t help but notice through the viewfinder that even though Ashley looked completely different from her siblings they all had a certain aura about them… A mutual feeling of love and they consistently said to each other “I love you.”

It’s moments like the one I had just witnessed that make my contributions worthy of their presence… Not to mention that I felt like I was included in the “love.”
